Although Paice , Ashton and Lord only ever really recorded one complete studio album,but they did manage to find recordings of unfinished work and new material which if completed would of produced the second album, plus a live album.
Malice in wonderland was the bands first and only full studio album, recorded at Musicland Studios, Munich ,Germany, between 20th September and 30th October 1976 and was finally released on March 4th 1977. The first pressing of the album did not include the 3 additional tracks.

Malice in wonderland (Special Edition) released in 2001, which included tracks that would of been part of the second studio album if ever completed, some of the bonus tracks are not fully mixed, but shows what a strong and powerful sound they had.

First Of The Big Bands(Live album), was the start of something big for Tony Ashton and Jon Lord it was to form the basis for Paice, Ashton and Lord, that was to follow two years later. If you listen to this album you can feel the making of 'PAL' and pure chemistry of the music, this album really was PAL 1, now a limited album, if you can get hold of one, just emerse yourself in this big band sound, The atmosphe live will never to be repeated.
